Fortescue's Perth office seeks a Senior Analyst Joint Ventures to support commercial, financial, reporting and governance activities for the Iron Bridge Joint Venture. You will report to the Principal Joint Ventures and collaborate with Fortescue teams to deliver value-added insights.

The role turns complex operational data into timely, accurate insights that support commercial decisions, partner engagement and governance through regular performance reporting and financial analysis.

Location: Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday - Friday, adhoc site travel as required

The Senior Analyst Joint Ventures is responsible for supporting the commercial, financial, reporting and governance activities of the Iron Bridge Joint Venture. Reporting to the Principal Joint Ventures, the role works closely with the Joint Ventures team, Iron Bridge operational and commercial teams and broader Fortescue functions to provide value-add support for effective management and oversight of the Joint Venture.

The role is expected to provide insightful analytical and commercial support across Joint Venture and Operational performance, financial management, governance and contracting matters. This includes preparing regular performance reporting for operational leadership, Joint Venture management and Joint Venture committee members, supporting financial analysis and forecasting, coordinating Joint Venture funding requirements and tracking operational and financial performance against plan.

To be successful in the role, you will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the Iron Bridge operation, Joint Venture arrangements and key performance drivers. Success requires more than coordinating inputs or reporting information, it requires turning complex operational and financial data into timely, accurate and commercially relevant insights that support effective commercial decision making, partner engagement and Joint Venture governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Joint Ventures in the day-to-day commercial management and governance of the Iron Bridge Joint Venture, including analysis and preparation of materials for Joint Venture committees and operational leadership.
• Prepare and coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly operational and financial performance reporting, working with operational and functional teams to identify key movements, risks, trends and matters requiring management attention.
• Support financial modelling, forecasting and month-end activities, including analysis and reconciliation of actual performance against budget, forecast and operational plans.
• Support the Joint Venture cash management including revenue distribution, preparation and reconciliation of cash calls in coordination with Finance, Commercial and Joint Venture stakeholders.
• Track and reconcile key operational and financial performance metrics, independently assess and investigate variances to deliver value-add insights and recommended actions and engage relevant teams to validate underlying performance drivers underpinning insights and recommendations.
• Support commercial analysis and decision making across Iron Bridge, including preparation of financial analysis, business cases and other ad hoc analysis as required.
• Support contracting and procurement matters relevant to the Joint Venture, including commercial analysis, contract reviews, procurement processes and coordination with Commercial, Procurement and Legal teams.
• Support Joint Venture governance and partner engagement, including preparation of committee papers, responses to partner information requests, maintenance of governance records and tracking of actions and commitments.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial, finance, corporate development, transaction services, management accounting, business analysis or related roles, preferably within mining, resources or infrastructure.
• Strong financial and analytical capability, including experience with financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to reconcile financial and operational information and identify key performance drivers and issues.
• Commercially minded with the ability to understand operational matters and translate financial and operational information into clear insights for decision makers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise reporting and governance materials for senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work across Finance, Commercial, Operations, Procurement and Legal functions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Anaplan, financial planning systems or similar analytical tools is desirable.
• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Law, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
