Job summary

Calvary St Pauls Retirement Community in Cundletown, NSW, seeks a Personal Care Worker to ensure high-quality care for residents. Permanent Part Time or Casual opportunities with flexible shifts are available.

You will support residents with daily living, assist with personal care, and work under the care plan of the Registered Nurse. Certificate III in individual support is essential, with empathy for aged care.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in individual support (Essential)
• Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person
• Respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and self-esteem
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, promoting independence
• Contribute to residents' physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs via assessment and observation
• Implement care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse and per care plan
• Assist residents with personal care and hygiene while encouraging independence

About the role

As Personal Care Worker you are instrumental to ensuring that we are providing high quality care to our residents at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the resident’s plan of care.
• Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence

About you

• Certificate III in individual support, or equivalent recognised qualification (Essential)
• Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person and their needs
• Demonstrated respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and self esteem
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
