The Regent, Mount Waverley, is seeking a passionate Personal Care Worker to make a real difference in residents' lives. You will work within an integrated team to provide high-quality personal care according to each resident's plan.

You will support independence, assess needs and assist with daily activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Availability Monday to Friday, with morning and afternoon/evening shifts, participate in Calvary, a leading Australian healthcare provider.

Qualificações

• Certificate III in individual support or equivalent qualification.
• Experience engaging with residents, including dementia support.
• Effective interpersonal communication in written and verbal form.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage time.
• Flexible, empathetic, patient approach with aged residents.
• Ability to provide holistic care.
• Respect for privacy, dignity and self-esteem of residents.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Knowledge of WH&S and infection control.

About the role

The position of Personal Care Worker is part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework attending to the personal needs of residents. The Personal Care Worker role is instrumental to ensuring that we are providing high quality care to our residents at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the resident’s plan of care.
• Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence

About you

• Certificate III in individual support, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person and their needs
• Demonstrated ability to provide holistic care
• Demonstrated respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and self esteem
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
