Job summary

SustainHealth Recruitment is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthetics in Melbourne to lead the operating theatre and anaesthetics team. You will drive clinical leadership, workforce planning and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality perioperative care.

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will partner with Cath Lab, PACU and Day Surgery to optimise theatre performance and patient experience within a large private acute hospital.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Senior perioperative leadership or management experience.
• Strong operating theatre experience (Scrub or Anaesthetics).
• Proven leadership, mentoring and staff development skills.
• Experience managing workforce, labour hours, agency use and KPIs.
• Knowledge of ACORN Standards, ANZCA guidelines and ACHS National Standards.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operating theatre department and provide clinical leadership in anaesthetics.
• Oversee day-to-day theatre operations and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Cath Lab, PACU, Day Surgery, Scrub and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage workforce, staffing levels, and performance indicators to support patient care.
