Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager for the Anaesthetics and PACU in a permanent full-time role (38 hours per week). You will provide clinical and professional leadership to the peri-operative team and drive patient-centred outcomes and innovation across the department.

The role offers a competitive hourly salary range of $75.40–$81.09 plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $18,550 + staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years extensive experience in Perioperative area (Anaesthetics/PACU) - essential.
• Current coordinator or team leader experience - essential.
• Nurse Unit Manager experience - desirable.
• Experience with Mater systems (Kronos, Confluence, D365, ERIC) - desirable.
• Strong regulatory knowledge and accreditation standards relevant to Anaesthetics and PACU.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Budget management understanding and sustainability focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operating theatres and staffing for patient safety and budget.
• Oversee rosters, leave approvals and performance reviews.
• Organise equipment and supply management.
• Lead quality activities and attend relevant meetings.
• Collaborate with VMO's and internal stakeholders on requests.
• Support Perioperative Services Manager and Director Clinical Services.
• Oversee Anaesthetics, PACU and PACA areas across shifts.
