SustainHealth Recruitment is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthetics in Melbourne to lead the operating theatre and anaesthetics team. You will drive clinical leadership, workforce planning and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality perioperative care.

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will partner with Cath Lab, PACU and Day Surgery to optimise theatre performance and patient experience within a large private acute hospital.

Qualificações

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Senior perioperative leadership or management experience.
• Strong operating theatre experience (Scrub or Anaesthetics).
• Proven leadership, mentoring and staff development skills.
• Experience managing workforce, labour hours, agency use and KPIs.
• Knowledge of ACORN Standards, ANZCA guidelines and ACHS National Standards.
• Full Australian working rights.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthetics to join a well-established private acute hospital in Melbourne.

This newly created leadership role will be responsible for the effective operational management of the operating theatre department, providing strong clinical leadership and supporting the delivery of high-quality perioperative care. Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, the successful candidate will lead the Anaesthetics specialty team and oversee the day-to-day management of theatre operations.

You will play a key role in workforce management, staff development, quality improvement, and maintaining excellence in clinical standards. Working collaboratively with Cath Lab, PACU, Day Surgery, Scrub and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient theatre performance.

About You

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Nursing
• Previous senior perioperative nursing leadership or management experience
• Strong experience within operating theatres, preferably in Scrub or Anaesthetics
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support nursing teams
• Experience managing workforce requirements, labour hours, agency utilisation and performance indicators
• Strong understanding of ACORN Standards, ANZCA guidelines and ACHS National Standards
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills
• Proven ability to drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence
• Full Australian working rights required
