Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland in Brisbane is seeking an experienced HR practitioner with strong employee relations capabilities to join the People and Culture function on a permanent basis. The role focuses on guiding leaders through performance, conduct issues, investigations and other people matters with practical, well-documented outcomes.

You will partner with managers to support sound decisions, provide coaching, and contribute to policy improvements and education as the ER function develops.

Qualifications

• Experience in employee relations with knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial instruments and policy frameworks.
• Ability to coach managers and influence decision making.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building across a portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Guide leaders through performance, conduct, grievances, investigations and other people matters from initial advice to documentation and escalation.
• Help managers understand options, enabling sound decisions and confident handling of matters.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements, manager education, and succession planning as the partnering model evolves.
• Build trusted relationships and turn advice into practical action in a developing ER function.
