Job summary

Queensland Government in Brisbane is seeking a Principal HR Business Partner to lead a small ER team within the People and Culture division. You will provide authoritative advice to senior leaders on complex employee relations matters and coach the ER team to improve capability.

You will oversee cases from assessment to resolution, interpret legislation and policies, support governance and risk, and drive improvements in ER practices across Treasury.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience advising on complex employee relations matters.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary ER practice and relevant legal frameworks.
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small ER team delivering workforce advisory services.
• Oversee ER cases from initial assessment through to resolution.
• Advise on performance and capability, discipline, grievances and complaints; interpret legislation and policies.
• Support governance, procedural fairness, documentation and risk management.
• Coach HR Partners and strengthen the team's ER capability; monitor case trends and CaPE reporting.
• Lead improvements to ER policies, case-management practices and manager capability.
