2XM Recruit WA is partnering with a growing WA mining and civil contractor to recruit a Payroll Officer / Senior Payroll Administrator. This permanent role offers an end-to-end payroll focus within a supportive finance team.

You'll manage timesheets, attendances and pay data across diverse rosters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards. A 38-hour week with flexible start/finish times and a bonus scheme are on offer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in payroll role.
• Experience in mining/resources environment preferred.
• Strong communication with on-site stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and timely.
• Manage timesheets, attendance and employee pay data.
• Review overtime, allowances, penalties and leave entitlements.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve payroll queries.
• Ensure payroll aligns with awards, agreements and company policies.
• Verify superannuation payments are accurate.
• Maintain accurate payroll records.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies; support month-end and EOFY payroll.
• Provide general finance team support as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing end-to-end payroll in a timely and accurate manner
• Managing timesheets, attendance records and employee pay information
• Reviewing and processing overtime, allowances, penalties and leave entitlements
• Working with operational teams to resolve timesheet and payroll queries
• Ensuring payroll is processed in line with relevant awards, agreements and company policies
• Ensuring Superannuation is paid consistently and accurately
• Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and information
• Assisting with payroll reconciliations and reporting
• Investigating and resolving payroll discrepanciesSupporting month-end and EOFY payroll requirements
• Providing general support to the wider finance team as required

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a payroll position
• Strong communication skills, not just via email but, over the phone - having the confidence to pick up the phone and speak to the people on site.
• Previous experience within mining, resources or a similar operational environment highly regarded
• Experience processing payroll for employees working across different rosters and shifts - situational awareness!
• Understanding of managing payroll deduction processes for (but not limited to): CSA, Salary Sacrifice, etc..
• Pronto experience preferred, but not essential
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, allowances, overtime and entitlements (system does majority of the interpretation - you will be the "check & balance", making sure it looks right!)
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
