Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager in Macquarie Park, Sydney, to lead end-to-end payroll for a large workforce. You will oversee 2 Payroll Officers and ensure timely processing for permanent and casual staff, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing payroll for a large workforce.
• Autonomous with end-to-end payroll expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly for permanent and casual staff (≈1000 employees).
• Process superannuation, payroll tax/PAYG.
• Process new hires, terminations and status changes.
• Mentor and manage 2 payroll officers.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations and reports.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.

About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager for a full-function role, offering a permanent position. The ideal candidate is someone who is autonomous and comes with end-to-end payroll expertise, ready to take the next step in their career. You will be looking after 2x Payroll Officers.

Responsibilities:

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly, fortnightly & monthly basis (for permanent and casual staff) (Approx. 1000 employees)
• Processing and calculating superannuation, payroll tax/PAYG
• Processing new hires, terminations, status changes etc.
• Assisting with key payroll projects
• Identifying process improvements
• Ensuring compliance with payroll related legislation
• Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
• Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and reports
• Partnering and developing strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
• Working collaboratively and as a team across departments.
• Mentoring the wider payroll team (2x staff)
