Job summary

Ambition Recruitment is seeking a payroll leader to own end-to-end payroll for approx. 350 weekly staff in Chatswood, NSW. You will lead a small payroll team, mentor colleagues, and drive Pay Day Super and T&A system integrations to improve accuracy and efficiency.

You will interpret awards, overtime, and allowances while ensuring correct wages, PAYG and superannuation, with a hands-on approach and a focus on process improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume weekly payroll environment.
• Experience with MicrOpay essential.
• Strong understanding of awards, overtime, and allowances.
• Prior leadership experience preferred, or ability to step into leadership.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Hands-on approach with payroll responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for ~350 weekly employees.
• Lead, mentor, and support 2 payroll team members.
• Drive two initiatives: Pay Day Super implementation and T&A system integration.
• Ensure accurate processing of wages, PAYG, tax, and superannuation.
• Interpret awards, overtime rules, and allowances, including manual calculations where required.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies across payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate processing of wages, PAYG, tax, and superannuation
