Job summary

Royal Automobile Club Of WA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support a dedicated Leave Audit Project on a full-time six-month contract. You will conduct comprehensive leave audits, validate payroll data, and ensure adherence to Australian payroll legislation and company policies.

You will review leave balances, accruals, and transactions across various entitlements, identify discrepancies, and prepare clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Analyst, or Senior Payroll Officer.
• Experience auditing payroll and leave in medium to large organisations.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and leave entitlement calculations.
• Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements (EAs), and contracts.
• Strong payroll reconciliation and data analysis with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ADP and Workday is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work independently on high-volume data projects.

Responsibilities

• Audit detailed employee leave balances, accruals, and transactions.
• Review and reconcile annual leave, personal/carer's leave, long service leave, parental leave, and other entitlements.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in leave calculations and payroll records.
• Validate payroll data against contracts, awards, EAs, and company policies.
• Prepare audit reports, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, and stakeholders to verify information.
• Support remediation activities and ensure audit outcomes are implemented.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails throughout the project.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work requirements and internal governance standards.
