Job summary

RAC WA is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a dedicated Leave Audit Project on a full-time contract for approximately six months. You will conduct comprehensive leave audits, validate payroll data, and ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and enterprise agreements.

This role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to verify information and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Analyst, or Senior Payroll Officer.
• Strong experience conducting payroll and leave audits in medium to large organisations.
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and leave entitlement calculations.
• Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements (EAs), and employment contracts.
• Strong payroll reconciliation and data analysis skills with strong Excel skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed audits of employee leave balances, accruals, and transactions.
• Review and reconcile annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, long service leave, parental leave, and other leave entitlements.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in leave calculations and payroll records.
• Validate payroll system data against employment contracts, awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
• Prepare audit reports, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to obtain and verify information.
• Support remediation activities and ensure audit outcomes are accurately implemented.
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails throughout the project.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work requirements, relevant legislation, and internal governance standards.
