GenesisCare in Rockhampton is seeking a Medical Receptionist (Patient Services Officer) to join our Patient Support Team. This permanent role operates on a 9-day fortnight with every second Monday off, supporting efficient clinic operations and a welcoming patient journey.

You will coordinate appointments, handle enquiries, and maintain confidential patient records while working closely with clinical staff to deliver high-quality cancer care.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or reception in a busy, customer-focused environment.
• Medical experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Warm, approachable personality with a genuine passion for helping others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse people.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage priorities.
• Confident using computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Caring and empathetic approach, especially during challenging times.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly, welcoming face of our centre for patients and families.
• Coordinate patient appointments, bookings, and daily clinic schedules.
• Respond to patient enquiries, process referrals, and assist with administration.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation with confidentiality.
