Job summary

GenesisCare Chermside Radiation Oncology Centre in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist (Patient Services Officer) to join the team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate service in person and over the phone as you coordinate appointments and handle billing and records.

This permanent, full-time role is 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, requiring strong organisational skills and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical reception, healthcare administration or customer service role.
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding patient care and customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• High attention to detail and excellent computer and administrative skills.
• A professional phone manner and confidence managing a high volume of enquiries.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced administrative environment while delivering exceptional patient care.
• Be the first point of contact for patients, providing outstanding service both in person and over the phone.
• Manage a busy workload and adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.
• Coordinate patient appointments and consultations.
• Process billing and receipting accurately.
• Complete data entry and maintain patient records with a high level of accuracy.
• Support the day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a seamless patient experience.
• Maintain confidential patient records and documentation.
