Job summary

Veterinary Referral Hospital Dandenong is seeking a Client Services Representative for maternity cover. This role is part-time (28hrs/week) and will involve first-line contact with clients, both in person and by phone, in a busy veterinary environment.

You’ll triage emergencies, manage appointments and client communications, and support the veterinary team. The ideal candidate has customer-service experience and remains professional under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in client service (vet or healthcare preferred)
• Confident handling a busy switchboard and high call volumes
• Ability to stay calm and professional in urgent or emergency situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for clients in person and over the phone
• Manage a multi-line switchboard and high call volumes efficiently
• Triage and respond to emergency inquiries and escalate when needed
• Coordinate appointments and client communications
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation
• Provide information on services, pricing and hospital policies
• Support veterinary staff to ensure smooth patient care
• Process payments and handle basic financial transactions
• Keep reception area clean, organised and welcoming
• Assist with general administrative tasks as required
