Job summary

Casino Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will act as day-to-day second-in-charge for reception and administration and provide relief support to the Practice Manager when required.

We value a professional, patient-focused approach and want someone with Medicare/MBS knowledge, PRODA, MyMedicare, and experience with Best Practice software to help maintain a smooth, efficient general practice

Qualifications

• Previous medical receptionist experience, preferably in general practice.
• Sound knowledge of Medicare and MBS item numbers.
• Experience with PRODA.
• Knowledge of MyMedicare.
• Experience with Medicare billing and claiming.
• Experience with Best Practice software.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to support, guide and work alongside other reception staff.
• Confidence to deal with day-to-day operational issues and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Act as a day-to-day second-in-charge for reception and administration, providing practical guidance and support to team members.
• Assist with training, onboarding and upskilling reception team members in practice systems, procedures and service standards.
• Promote a positive, respectful and patient-focused team culture.
• Manage minor operational issues where appropriate and escalate staffing, workflow or patient service concerns to the Practice Manager.
• Monitor daily front-desk priorities, communication and task completion to support smooth practice operations.
