Qualifications

• Experience in Library Support.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with a broad range of customers.
• Confidence handling enquiries and providing accurate information.
• Ability to follow procedures and complete routine transactions with care.
• Comfort using computer systems to record customer information and access service details.
• Ability to maintain organised customer areas and manage daily tasks reliably.

Responsibilities

• Welcome library visitors and provide clear, courteous information about available services and facilities.
• Respond to customer enquiries in person, by phone and through relevant service channels, helping people find practical answers.
• Assist customers to access library resources, memberships and basic service information.
• Process routine customer transactions accurately and keep records up to date in line with established procedures.
• Maintain neat, accessible public spaces so visitors can use the library comfortably and safely.
• Refer complex enquiries to the appropriate team member to ensure customers receive the right support.
• Support daily library operations, including opening, closing and preparing customer service areas.
• Promote respectful use of library facilities and help create a positive experience for all visitors.
