Job summary

Plaza Dental Centre in Hurstville is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist for a part-time role (3 days per week). You will be the first point of contact, creating a warm, welcoming environment and supporting patients through their treatment journey.

Responsibilities include check-in/out, appointment scheduling, handling payments and quotes, guiding patients through treatment options, and coordinating with the practice manager and senior dentist. Dental software experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dental reception role is essential.
• Minimum 2–3 years' dental reception experience is required.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain treatment options clearly and confidently.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients and priorities.
• The ability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
• A strong customer service focus and a genuine passion for delivering an exceptional patient experience.
• Australian work rights are essential for this position.
• Experience with dental practice management software is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment for patients. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes and coordinate appointment scheduling to ensure a seamless experience.
• Guide patients through their treatment plans by clearly explaining procedures, timelines and costs. Build trust and ensure patients feel informed and confident in proceeding with recommended care.
• Coordinate treatment schedules and manage financial discussions, including preparing quotes and referral letters, explaining payment options, and assisting with payment plans or insurance claims where applicable.
• Act as the key point of contact for patients throughout their treatment journey. Follow up on pending treatments, manage appointment flow, and ensure a seamless, high-quality patient experience from consultation through to completion.
• Handle phone calls, emails and patient enquiries, providing clear information about treatments and resolving concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Work alongside the practice manager and senior dentist to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the dental practice.
• Assist dental clinicians with stock and inventory management.
• Ensure the reception area is well presented, organised and fully stocked to support smooth daily operations.
