Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis. You will prepare ingredients, cook a variety of dishes to a high standard, and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

The role offers rotating shifts across breakfast and dinner, minimum 20 hours per week, and immediate start. Opportunities for career growth and staff perks accompany the position.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
