Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join the kitchen team on a part-time basis. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards and excellent guest dining experiences.

Responsibilities include cooking, plating, maintaining hygiene, and supporting daily kitchen operations. The position offers weekend and public holiday shifts with an immediate start and minimum hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilités

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
