Job summary

CVGT Melton is seeking a Parent Pathways Mentor (Full Time or Part Time) to empower parents and carers of young children. The role blends case management with community engagement to help participants move toward education and employment goals.

This position offers a 38-hour full-time or 22.8-hour part-time schedule with competitive salary packaging, a $1,000 qualification allowance, and superannuation. The role is based in Melton, Victoria, and involves outreach across local locations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Community Services is required or in progress
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and rapport-building
• Ability to plan and deliver community engagement activities
• Proficient with multiple digital tools and systems
• Willingness to obtain National Police Check and Working with Children Check

This position is available on either a Full Time or Part Time basis.

Full Time (38 hours per week)

• $70,174 - $75,745 + $1,000 qualification allowance + super + salary packaging

Part Time (22.8 hours per week)

• $42,104 - $45,447 + $1,000 qualification allowance + super + salary packaging

As a Parent Pathways Mentor, you’ll empower parents and carers of young children to build confidence, overcome barriers and take positive steps toward education and employment goals. Through personalised support, strong community connections, and meaningful coaching conversations, you'll help participants create lasting change for themselves and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusted relationships with parents and carers, support goal-setting, and coach participants toward education, employment, and personal growth.
• Deliver strengths-based, personalised case management that accommodates parenting responsibilities and complex barriers.
• Connect participants with childcare, training opportunities, financial assistance, health and wellbeing resources and services to support progress.
• Promote the Parent Pathways program through community engagement activities, whilst developing strong partnerships with local services and employers to create pathways to work experience and employment.
• Provide in-person support across outreach locations while managing an active participant caseload.
• Maintain accurate records, manage caseloads efficiently, and ensure all services meet program guidelines and contractual requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Certificate III in Community Services, Employment Services, or a related field (completed, in progress, or willingness to undertake).
• Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence; builds rapport, communicates with empathy, and engages effectively with participants from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated initiative and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver community engagement activities and proactively promote program awareness.
• Highly proficient across a wide range of digital tools and adept at navigating multiple systems efficiently.
• Full work rights in Australia, with the ability to travel locally, obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
