Job summary

Real Futures is seeking a Part-time Parent Pathways Mentor to support eligible parents and carers, three days per week.

In this role you will maintain an active caseload, conduct assessments, provide career guidance and pathway planning, and help build partnerships with local stakeholders to enable participation.

You will work in a supportive team and gain personal and professional development opportunities within AKG's nationwide network.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Community Service, Children, Youth and Families or Employment Services.
  • Administration experience - CRM and databases, intranets, and internet research.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an outcome-based environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high quality, individually tailored service.
  • Experience dealing with challenging participants and de-escalating situations of conflict.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Working with eligible parents of children under the age of six to maintain an active caseload.
  • Conduct parent assessments within the context of continuing education and career planning.
  • Help parents identify goals with career guidance and pathway planning.
  • Develop and monitor a participation plan in consultation with parents.
  • Build partnerships with local external stakeholders to support participation.
  • Link parents to local non-vocational support services.
  • Meet individual KPIs and targets set by the Parent Pathways Management.
  • Document tailored, high-quality assessments and comments in the CRM.

Job description

Real Futures is a majority Aboriginal-owned and staffed company. We provide tailored employment services, Parent Pathways Program (PPP), Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES), Transition to Work (TtW), and Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) across Australia.

Parent Pathways is about parents and carers and their individual needs. With the help of a qualified mentor, parents and carers can receive flexible support to assist with any personal, study or work goals.

This is a part-time role, three days per week.

A day in the life of our Parent Pathways Mentor can include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Working with eligible parents of children under the age of six
  • Maintain and support an active caseload
  • Conduct parent assessments within the context of continuing education and career planning
  • Help parents to identify their goals by providing career guidance and pathway planning
  • Develop, monitor and review a clear participation plan in consultation with parents on a regular basis
  • Develop a clear and sustainable strategy to form effective partnerships with key local external stakeholders
  • Link parents into appropriate local non-vocational support services
  • Achieve individual KPI’s and targets as they are set out by the Parent Pathways Management
  • Ensure clearly documented individually tailored, high-quality assessments and comments into the CRM
  • Ensure compliance with the Parent Pathways Agreement for all relevant activities

Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience in Community Service, Children, Youth and Families or Employment Services

  • Demonstrated ability to work in an outcome-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high quality, individually tailored service

To be considered you must...

  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
  • Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
  • Ability to work three days per week.
