YMCA NSW is seeking an Assistant Director to lead an OSHC service, supporting the Director with daily operations and program quality. You will mentor educators, ensure regulatory compliance and engage families to deliver safe, inclusive, high-quality experiences for children.

This leadership role balances hands-on program delivery with strategic oversight, requiring prior OSHC or children’s services leadership and a commitment to child wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within OSHC, early childhood or children's services.
  • Diploma or Degree qualification in a relevant field.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of child development and inclusive practices.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and relevant education and care certifications.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children, families and educators.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality OSHC programs aligned with the National Quality Framework.
  • Lead, mentor and support educators through coaching, guidance and collaboration.
  • Contribute to program planning, reflective practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate daily operations and support service leadership in the Director's absence.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure documentation, risk management processes and reporting requirements are completed accurately.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, schools and the wider community.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and child-focused environment where every child can thrive.
