Job summary

Mentone Grammar School in Mentone is seeking a Casual OSHC Leader to plan science experiments, sports events, and arts activities that kids enjoy. You will lead a safe, inclusive environment and supervise snacks and daily operations during after-school and vacation care.

The role involves five days a week (Mon-Fri), 2:00 pm–6:00 pm after school care, and up to 30 hours for vacation care, with hourly rates of 49.88–52.15 plus 12% super. Training and development sessions are provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Early Childhood, Primary Teaching, School Aged Care, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
• Warm, engaging personality with a can-do attitude.
• Must have Working With Children Check, Child Protection Training, First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Management (willingness to obtain).
• Ability to build trust with children, educators, and school leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan and program science experiments, sports tournaments, educational activities, and creative arts.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
• Prepare healthy snacks to keep energy levels up.
• Collaborate with the Programs Engagement Manager and our compliance team on assessments and ratings.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure OSHC programs are integrated and well-managed.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the service to run like clockwork.

Job Details & Role

About your service: Mentone Grammar School, Mentone.

Hourly Rate: $49.88 - $52.15 Per Hour (Including Worker Retention Payment Scheme) + 12% Super.

• Days Required: Monday to Friday. Five days per week required


• After School Care: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm


• Total Hours: 20 hours per week


• Vacation Care: Up to 30 hours per week.


• Contract: Casual


• Professional development sessions are paid training sessions, and Retention payments are above award
