Job summary

Woden Community Service in the ACT is seeking an Assistant Service Director for Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) at Torrens Primary School. You will support the Service Director in delivering safe, inclusive, high-quality OSHC services and oversee day-to-day operations, educational quality and staffing.

You will mentor educators, ensure regulatory compliance, build partnerships with families and schools, and drive continuous improvement while providing operational oversight in the Service

Qualifications

• Diploma in Education and Care or ACECQA-approved equivalent.
• Experience in OSHC or school-age care settings.
• Knowledge of NQF, National Law/Regulations and My Time, Our Place.
• Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID012 with asthma/anaphylaxis training.
• Experience guiding or leading educators and teams.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support compliance, operations, and programming.
• Previous leadership roles in OSHC or similar settings.
• Experience with assessment, rating and enrolment systems.

• Support the Service Director in day-to-day delivery of high-quality OSHC services.
• Promote child safety, wellbeing, inclusion, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide educational leadership aligned with My Time, Our Place and quality improvement.
• Mentor and develop educators to foster a high-performing team.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
• Assist with staffing, enrolments, rostering and operational requirements.
• Build relationships with children, families, schools and community stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and service/organisational goals.
• Provide operational leadership in the Service Director's absence.
