Job summary

WesTrac in NSW seeks an Operator Trainer based from Dubbo, Bathurst or Tamworth to develop customer and operator skills across Caterpillar equipment. This hands-on role involves delivering engaging training, assessments and onsite coaching across mining, quarrying, construction and other heavy industries.

You will use your operational expertise to demonstrate machine technology, safety practices and best-practice operating techniques, while building strong relationships with customers and site

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating Caterpillar and other heavy mobile equipment.
• Previous experience as a Trainer, Assessor or Operator Trainer.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs and learning materials.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout NSW and maintain safety focus.
• TAE40116 certification (or equivalent) and a related Certificate III.
• Experience in mining, quarrying, civil construction or agricultural equipment environments is valued.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging operator training programs across classroom, practical and onsite environments.
• Conduct operator assessments and competency evaluations.
• Demonstrate equipment capability, machine technology and best-practice operating techniques.
• Develop, review and continuously improve training materials and course content.
• Build strong relationships with customers and site stakeholders to support training outcomes.
• Promote safe work practices, maintain training records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
