Job summary

Touchdown Canberra is a locally owned company with 25 years of experience in rope access and height safety. We are seeking enthusiastic Operations & Technical Sales Team Members to join our team, ideal for someone with a technical/engineering background who wants to learn and grow within the business.

You will manage client enquiries, build relationships with clients and suppliers, and support day-to-day operations, including preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions, and assisting

Qualifications

• Tech/Engineering background or willingness to learn the height safety industry.
• Low-level ability to read and understand basic building or construction drawings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn and take on greater responsibilities over time.
• Experience with project estimation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage client enquiries, communication and project updates.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and facility managers.
• Identify work opportunities to grow the business.
• Support the Operations & Project Manager with day-to-day operational activities.
• Assist with job sheets, preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions.
• Provide office-based support to field technicians and assist with troubleshooting and technical inquiries.
• Review building drawings and design compliant safety systems in line with applicable codes, Australian standards and Manufacturer guidelines.
• Develop and understand height safety systems and assist with system design and mark-ups on Bluebeam Revu.

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Operations & Technical Sales Team Membersto join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a technical/Engineering backgroundlooking to move into this industry, and who wants to learn. As your knowledge and experience develop, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress within the business.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Managing client enquiries, communication and project updates.

Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and facility & strata managers.

Working with the team to identify work opportunities to grow the company business.

Supporting the Operations & Project Manager with day-to-day operational activities.

Assisting with job sheets, preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions.

Providing office-based support to field technicians and assisting with troubleshooting and technical inquiries.

Reviewing building drawings and design complaint safety system in line with applicable codes, Australian standards and Manufacturer guidelines.

Can read and understand basic building or construction drawings or are willing to learn.

Are comfortable working with both office staff and field technicians.

Want to develop your skills and take on more responsibility over time.

• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Notion and Microsoft Office is also highly regarded, but not essential.
• Project estimator exposure will be valuable.

The engineering tasks align with those of an Engineering Technologist or Mechanical/Civil, as described by ANZSCO 233914. This occupationis included on the current Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
