Job summary

North Bondi RSL Club is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the senior management team and drive commercial performance, systems, compliance and facilities across the Club. You will work with the Venue Manager and CEO to ensure efficient, consistent operations and opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.

Job description

North Bondi RSL is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our senior management team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a broad operational leadership role with responsibility for the commercial performance, systems, compliance, facilities and operational infrastructure that support the Club.

Working alongside the Venue Manager and wider management team, you’ll help ensure the business operates efficiently, commercially and consistently — while identifying opportunities to improve performance, control costs and strengthen the way we operate.

This role would suit someone who enjoys looking across the whole operation, understands the commercial drivers of hospitality and can turn ideas into practical improvements.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Monitoring overall operational performance, budgets, revenue, costs and KPIs
• Analysing trading results and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and revenue
• Overseeing staff requirements and workforce costs in conjunction with the Venue Manager and CEO
• Developing and improving operational systems, policies, procedures and controls
• Managing suppliers, purchasing, contracts and procurement
• Overseeing stock control, stocktake, wastage and key inventory requirements
• Managing facilities, maintenance, contractors, cleaning, security and service providers
• Coordinating licensing, WHS, RSA, gaming, audit and broader compliance requirements alongside the CEO
• Supporting ongoing gaming compliance and ensuring required staff training remains current
• Planning and coordinating major Club events including ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and other significant activities
• Developing promotions, campaigns, sporting events and member activities
• Overseeing marketing, social media and member communications
• Working with designers and external providers to develop promotional material and campaigns
• Coordinating menu development, pricing, launches and associated food and beverage activity
• Developing function packages, pricing, menus and commercial offers
• Managing relationships with members, community groups, corporate clients and tour operators
• Leading operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing clear reporting on operational performance, risks and priorities to the CEO
• Supporting strategic planning and broader business development initiatives

About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine strong operational experience with commercial thinking and sound judgement.

You’ll ideally have:

• Senior operations management experience within hospitality, clubs, hotels, pubs, venues or a similar customer-focused environment
• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, costs and operational performance
• Experience developing systems, procedures and operational controls
• Confidence working with suppliers, contractors and external service providers
• A good understanding of hospitality compliance, WHS, licensing and risk management
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn operational data into practical actions
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the CEO, Venue Manager and wider team
• Previous experience within a registered Club, gaming or licensed hospitality environment would be highly regarded.
