Job summary

Summit Health Solutions Australia Pty Ltd in Canberra seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day performance across service delivery, workforce and partnerships. You will drive service quality, workforce capacity and financial visibility while upholding compassionate, person-centred care.

The role reports to the Directors and balances big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, ensuring governance and compliance are maintained as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in operational or service-management in aged care, community health, allied health, home care or a comparable regulated environment.
• At least three years' people-leadership experience, including responsibility for team performance, development and accountability.
• Satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People registration (or ability to obtain).

Summit Health Solutions is an Australian-owned community health organisation that has supported older Australians since 2012. We provide in-home and community-based allied health, wellbeing and support services across the ACT and surrounding regions. Our multidisciplinary team works alongside older Australians, families and representatives, Care Managers, aged-care providers and community partners.

As Summit continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day performance while protecting the responsive, personal and compassionate approach on which our reputation has been built.

About the role

Reporting to the Directors, you will provide the operational leadership connecting our people, services, clients and partners. You will lead team leaders and operational employees, strengthen service delivery, build workforce capacity, maintain trusted referral relationships and ensure financial and operational performance is visible and actively managed.

This is a broad senior-management role for someone who can see the bigger picture while remaining attentive to the details that affect clients and staff each day. You will identify problems early, understand their wider impact and turn complex issues into practical, accountable action.

The Operations Manager leads business and service operations but does not independently determine clinical-governance, professional-standard or scope-of-practice matters. These decisions remain with the Directors and appropriately qualified clinical leadership.

You combine operational discipline with empathy and emotional intelligence. You can move between people, performance and process without losing sight of why the work matters. You build trust, communicate calmly, manage competing demands and hold yourself and others accountable.

When a problem reaches the Directors, you bring the relevant facts, the risks, the wider business impact and a recommended way forward. You do not need to have every answer immediately, but you must know how to ask the right questions, gather reliable information and follow decisions through to completion.

Your leadership approach

What you will bring

• A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, health administration, health, aged care or a related field—or equivalent substantial applied experience.
• At least five years' operational or service-management experience in aged care, community health, allied health, home care or a comparable regulated environment.
• At least three years' people-leadership experience, including responsibility for team performance, development and accountability.
• Demonstrated ownership of budgets, revenue or cost performance, workforce capacity, utilisation, KPIs and service outcomes.
• A record of improving services, workflows and stakeholder relationships and leading change through to measurable results.
• Clear communication, sound judgement, strong follow-through and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly.
• A genuine commitment to helping older Australians age well and remain at home.

• Clients receive responsive, reliable and well-coordinated services.
• Families, Care Managers and referral partners receive clear communication and dependable follow-through.
• Staff understand their responsibilities, receive effective leadership and are appropriately supported.

Mandatory requirements

• Satisfactory National Police Check.
• Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration, or willingness and eligibility to obtain it before commencement.
• Valid driver's licence, Australian working rights and capacity to travel locally as required.
• Ability to meet any other screening or compliance requirements applicable to the role.
