Job summary

Adelaide Tyre & Automotive Group seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead four Bridgestone Select stores across South Australia. This senior, hands-on role reports to the Managing Director and will spend time across Magill, Norwood, Port Adelaide and Murray Bridge.

You will drive profitability, KPIs and operational standards, coach Store Managers, manage workforce and supplier relationships, and ensure safety and customer service excellence across all locations.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-site management experience within automotive/tyre services.
• Strong leadership with ability to coach Store Managers.
• Solid understanding of P&L, budgets and profitability.
• Experience driving KPIs, labour productivity and stock control.
• Willingness to travel regularly between four SA locations.

$150,000 – $180,000 package + performance incentives

About the Role

Adelaide Tyre & Automotive Group is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Operations Manager to lead the performance of our four Bridgestone Select stores across South Australia.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead our Store Managers and take overall responsibility for driving performance, profitability, operational consistency and accountability across the group.

This is a senior, hands-on multi-site leadership role. You will spend regular time across all four locations, working closely with Store Managers to ensure each business is performing to its potential and operating to the standards expected across the group.

You will stay close to the numbers and understand what is driving the performance of each store – including sales, gross profit, labour productivity, workshop utilisation, expenses, stock and overall profitability.

Where performance gaps exist, you will identify them early, establish clear actions with the relevant Store Manager and ensure those actions are followed through.

We are looking for someone who understands that strong operational management is about more than reporting on numbers – it's about getting into the business, understanding what's happening and driving results.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support Store Managers across all four locations

Set clear expectations, priorities and performance standards

Hold Store Managers accountable for KPIs, budgets and operational outcomes

Conduct regular store visits, performance reviews and management meetings

Identify operational or performance issues early and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Drive consistency and accountability across the group

Oversee workforce planning and support recruitment and rostering requirements where required

Commercial Performance

Drive sales, gross profit and overall store profitability

Monitor performance against budgets and key KPIs

Review financial and operational results with Store Managers

Improve labour productivity, workshop utilisation and efficiency

Maintain strong control over margins, expenses and operating costs

Identify opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability

Act decisively where stores or departments are underperforming

Workshop & Operations

Ensure workshops operate efficiently and consistently

Improve workflow, vehicle turnaround times and technician productivity

Ensure company systems, procedures and processes are followed

Maintain consistent operational standards across all four locations

Identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements

Ensure Bridgestone operational standards are consistently maintained

Customer Experience

Maintain consistently high standards of customer service

Ensure escalated customer matters are handled professionally and promptly

Work with Store Managers to improve customer retention and repeat business

Maintain a strong customer-focused culture across the group

Safety & Compliance

Ensure WHS requirements are maintained across all locations

Promote a strong and practical workshop safety culture

Conduct regular operational and compliance reviews

Ensure environmental, workplace and Bridgestone requirements are met

Address safety and compliance issues promptly

Stock & Systems

Maintain strong inventory and stock control

Monitor stock accuracy, adjustments, obsolete stock and losses

Ensure company systems are being used correctly and consistently

Identify and reduce stock leakage and operational inefficiencies

Work with Store Managers and suppliers to maintain appropriate stock levels

About You

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who is commercially strong, comfortable with accountability and enjoys being actively involved in the businesses they manage.

Ideally, you will have:

Proven multi-site management experience within automotive, tyre, mechanical, retail or a similar service-based business

Experience leading Store Managers, Branch Managers or similar operational leaders

Strong commercial and financial acumen

Demonstrated experience managing KPIs, budgets and profitability

A strong understanding of workshop productivity and labour efficiency

The ability to interpret a P&L and identify the operational drivers behind the numbers

Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills

The confidence to address underperformance and hold people accountable

A practical, hands-on management style

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple locations and competing priorities

A current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly between stores

Experience within the tyre or automotive industry will be highly regarded.
