Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking experienced Technicians to maintain and support operational technology across Maules Creek mine. You will handle fault finding, systemic maintenance and rapid response in a challenging environment.

Role involves site telecoms, CCTV, radio links, fleet management and IT/OT systems. Relocation or accommodation support is available, with 7/7 rosters and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in electronics/telecommunications or equivalent cert.
• Mine site experience is desirable but not required.
• ACMA cabling licence is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently or in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support OT systems across mine infrastructure and fleet.
• Troubleshoot faults and respond quickly to incidents.
• Collaborate with IT/OT teams to ensure network security and reliability.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and manage risk daily.
• Provide hands-on maintenance for site telecoms, CCTV and networks.

Skills

Trade qualification in Electronics or-

Education

Whitehaven Coal are seeking experienced Technicians to join our dedicated team at Maules Creek mine providing support and maintenance on a large variety of Operational Technology systems across the mine infrastructure and mobile fleet. You will utilise your strong fault finding and problem-solving skills in a challenging and fast paced environment which requires minimal response times.

What You’ll Do

• Working across a range of systems and technologies, you will deliver high quality solutions for:
• Site telecommunications including mesh, CCTV and industrial networks
• Two-way radio systems and radio/Wi‑Fi point to point links
• Fleet management systems
• IT and OT systems including network monitoring and security systems
• Demonstrate visible safe work practices, managing risk and acting as safety role model every day

What You’ll Bring

• Trade qualification in either Electronics and Telecommunications, Auto Electrical or Electrotechnology (or other relevant tertiary certification)
• Mine site experience (desirable)
• ACMA open cabling licence (desirable)
• Strong time management, troubleshooting & problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
