Job summary

Whitehaven Coal, based at Tarrawonga Mine in NSW, is seeking a maintenance electrician to service a fleet of heavy mining equipment, focusing on safe, efficient maintenance and compliance with site standards.

You will perform scheduled servicing, diagnostics and repairs on electric drive haul trucks on site and in the workshop, contributing to reliable operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safety and safe working practices.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment.
• Experience with electric drive trucks in a mining environment.
• HV electrical licence holder preferred.

About The Role

Based at Tarrawonga Mine, there are multiple opportunities to join a team and grow in a supportive environment. You will work on a fleet of mining equipment, including CAT and Hitachi machinery, ensuring all maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and in line with statutory and site standards. Working within the maintenance team, this role is responsible for the scheduled servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Heavy Mining Equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative and unplanned maintenance on electric drive haul trucks (Hitachi EH4000-2/3)
• Diagnose and rectify faults across HV electrical systems
• Work effectively across workshop and field environments

What You’ll Bring

• Commitment to safety
• Strong problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills
• Openness to learning & adaptability
• Experienced with electric drive trucks within a mining environment
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Current High Voltage Electrical Licence
• Be willing and able to carry out an order 45 medical
