Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a skilled trade professional for on-site maintenance at our Vickery site. You will perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mobile plant, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates hold a Plant or Diesel Fitter NSW Cert of Proficiency, have mining/heavy industry experience, and are comfortable working with CAT/Hitachi machinery. Camp accommodation and meals are provided on roster.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Plant or Diesel Fitter with NSW Cert of Proficiency.
• Background in mining or heavy industry with a strong safety mindset.
• Solid trade skills and ability to perform maintenance and repairs on mobile plant.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on mobile plant.
• Jump on breakdowns and keep machines turning.
• Work safe, think ahead and report anything that doesn't look right.
• Complete work orders efficiently and support your crew when needed.
• Contribute to a high‑quality, safety-focused team environment.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on mobile plant
• Jump on breakdowns and keep machines turning

• Get through your work orders without needing to be chased
• Pitch in and back your crew when it counts

What You’ll Bring

• Solid trade skills and a strong safety mindset
• Background in mining or heavy industry
• Trade qualified (Plant or Diesel Fitter) - NSW Cert of Proficiency required
• Sound knowledge of CAT/Hitachi machinery
• High-risk tickets like EWP, Forklift or Crane (nice to have)
