Job summary

Plaza Premium Lounge – Sydney Domestic Airport NSW is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team for the opening of our new lounge. You will support daily food preparation, service and kitchen operations while upholding high standards of presentation, safety and cleanliness.

Reporting to the Head Chef and senior kitchen team, you will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for guests in a fast-paced airport hospitality environment, with opportunities to assist menu

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, Associate Degree or other qualification in Culinary Arts or Commercial Cookery is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily food production including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning and seasoning.
• Prepare menu items, salads, sauces and other dishes per Head Chef instructions.
• Assist with cooking, plating and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, organised and sanitised workstations and equipment.
• Assist with stock rotation, FIFO, and monthly stocktakes.
