Job summary

Accor in Sydney is hiring a Full Time Commis Chef to join our fast paced lounge kitchen. You will work under the Executive Chef, preparing ingredients and delivering high quality dishes to our lounge guests at the Sydney Lounges.

Experience in luxury 5-star environments is valued, but a genuine passion for hospitality, teamwork and a can-do attitude are essential. Applicants must have Australian working rights and be able to pass a Federal Police check.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a luxury 5-star environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• MUST have full working rights within Australia.
• Ability to pass a federal police background security check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring food products.
• Execute cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs (grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, etc.).
• Follow established recipes and presentation standards for portion size and plating.
• Assist in assembling and plating dishes to meet standards.
• Adhere to kitchen safety rules and proper handling of equipment and hot items.
