Job summary

dnata Airport Services is launching a world-class marhaba Lounge at Western Sydney International Airport. We are hiring a Cook/Chef to prepare a range of high-quality dishes, maintain food safety standards and collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless guest experience.

You will work in a hands-on kitchen, balancing creativity with consistency, and adhere to HACCP standards while supporting cost-control and waste-management practices. A strong team orientation is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, hotel, catering or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and a range of cooking techniques with the ability to work from recipes while adapting and creating dishes where appropriate.
• Experience using professional kitchen equipment, cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• A working understanding of food safety standards (HACCP) and general hygiene.
• Current RSA Certificate is a must.
• Police and security check and unrestricted working rights in Australia are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment and cook a variety of high-quality meals for the lounge.
• Prepare ingredients and maintain mise en place to support smooth service and minimise waste.
• Cook using grilling, baking, boiling and other techniques with emphasis on presentation and quality.
• Maintain a clean, sanitised and organised kitchen in line with dnata SOPs and WHS.
• Monitor quality, freshness and presentation of ingredients and finished dishes.
• Assist with stock monitoring and ordering within budget and cost-control guidelines.
• Support lounge operations and collaborate with front-of-house and other shifts as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve food quality, service and efficiency.
• Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by Senior Management.
