Emirates Leisure Retail Australia New Zealand (ELRANZ) is seeking a Commis/Demi Chef for a full-time role at Sydney Airport. You will assist senior chefs, help prepare menu items, and work across multiple kitchen sections in a fast-paced airport environment.

The position requires rotating rosters, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, with a focus on food safety and high standards.

Qualificações

• Minimum 1 years’ experience as Commis/Demi chef.
• Commercial kitchen experience.
• Proficient across all kitchen sections with strong cooking and portion control.
• Experience in managing inventory and ordering.
• Calm, efficient, and effective under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to contribute to seasonal menu planning.

Responsabilidades

• Responsible with assisting Head Chef & Sous Chef with preparation of food prior to service.
• Ensure individual section is ready to meet daily functions and special requirements.
• Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all food items and making of orders.
• Be actively involved in daily service cooking and serving menu items in line with company standards.
• Monitor and train staff on product knowledge, especially with new menu items, to maintain high standards.
• Inform the Head/Sous Chef of any shortfalls in stock or orders needed for the next day.
• Ensure adequate stock is on hand, and daily prep is completed to make the full menu offering available while avoiding waste.
