Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited in Perth seeks a seasoned Manager: Geotechnical Engineering (Underground Design) to lead geotechnical design and risk management across global underground assets. The role is based in Perth with on-site work and international travel.

You will direct design teams, coordinate multiple workstreams, ensure adherence to standards, and mentor geotechnical staff to manage hazards and risks effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining-related Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of exploration, mine development, and the mining value chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of geotechnical engineering designs to support Business Plans and asset initiatives.
• Coordinate geotechnical design charters and manage priorities, deadlines and resources.
• Ensure application of geotechnical standards, guidelines and processes on projects and business plans.
• Provide leadership to engineering teams and mentor vertical/geotechnical staff.
• Communicate progress and feedback to senior leadership and project management as required.
• Mentor operational and CTO geotechnical teams to competently manage geotechnical risks.
