Job summary

Kinetic IT is seeking an on-site Field Services Engineer to support desktop environments across Canberra, Sydney, Queensland and Perth. You will resolve end-user issues, install and configure hardware/software, and ensure secure, compliant operation in a large government-facing environment.

You must hold an active NV2 security clearance and have strong Windows, AD, SCCM/MECM, Cisco and DNS skills, with a customer-focused approach to VIP users.

Qualifications

• Active NV2 Australian Government security clearance is required.
• Experience as a Desktop Engineer, Field Support Engineer, or EUC Support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SCCM/MECM, Cisco, and DNS.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Customer-focused approach with the confidence to support VIP and high-priority users.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level desktop support.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on desktops/laptops.
• Collaborate with end users to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Perform routine maintenance: updates, patches, system upgrades.
• Monitor and manage desktop security to comply with policies.
• Assist with end-user support and triage for specialist applications incidents.
