Job summary

Oracle in Sydney is seeking an experienced Data Centre Technician to support, maintain, and improve critical data centre infrastructure. You will liaise between engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of cloud services.

You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and decommission data centre hardware and supporting infrastructure, respond to incidents, perform preventative maintenance, and manage asset inventory in

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience in a Data Centre or mission-critical infrastructure environment.
• Experience across hardware lifecycle: rack and stack, deployment, testing, maintenance, upgrades, break-fix, decommissioning.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills with root-cause analysis abilities.
• Experience following documented procedures and escalating when needed.
• Attention to detail in physical infrastructure changes, asset records, and production systems.
• Knowledge of Data Centre ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, cabling).

Responsibilities

• Completes moderately complex and/or ambiguous tasks per project requirements.
• Collaborates with team to deliver impactful work and support team objectives.
• Follows procedures to identify and resolve moderately complex or non-routine issues, escalating as needed.
• Seeks to learn new skills and tools; acts on feedback and pursues training.
• Recommends ideas to improve efficiency of non-standard processes and workflows.
• Replaces server components, upgrades servers, and maintains hardware lifecycle.
• Installs power distribution units and replaces hardware with minimal disruption to critical infrastructure.
• Implements network solutions including cabling and networking equipment environments.
• Verifies cabling and connectivity with limited supervision.
• Monitors tickets, guides others, and documents resolutions within SLAs.
• Adheres to SOPs/MOPs and site/vendor rules; maintains safety compliance.
• Upholds mandatory safety and compliance standards.
