Job summary

Mingara Recreation Club is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard to help create a safe, welcoming environment for our members. You will supervise aquatic areas, respond to risks, and assist with water quality and plant room operations.

Weeknight and weekend shifts available across our operating hours. We offer above award wages, roster released 4 weeks in advance, and generous staff benefits including gym and pool access, discounts, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard and water-safety certifications required.
• Excellent communication and service skills emphasized.
• Willingness to requalify annually in Lifeguard competencies.

The Role

Are you passionate about the water and looking to start a career in aquatics? As a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard, you will help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our members by supervising aquatic areas, providing great customer service, responding to potential risks, and assisting with water quality and plant room operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aquatics industry, with weeknight and weekend shifts available across our operating hours.

About You

You will be a team player, natural communicator and have a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of our local community.

In addition, you will meet the following criteria:

• Pool Lifeguard licence, First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willing and able to obtain, paid for by us!)
• Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Current Pool Lifeguard licence
• Previous lifeguard / SLSC experience

Our successful candidate is also willing to requalify annually in all Lifeguard specific competencies and annually (paid for by us!)
