Job summary

The Mingara Recreation Club is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard to help create a safe, welcoming environment for our members. You will supervise aquatic areas, deliver great customer service, respond to potential risks and assist with water quality and plant room operations. Weeknights and weekends shifts are available across our operating hours.

We value teamwork and community wellness, with training supported and opportunities for ongoing development as part of our aquatic team.

Qualifications

• Pool Lifeguard licence and First Aid/CPR certificates required.
• Working with Children Check required or willing to obtain.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Previous lifeguard or SLSC experience preferred.
• Willing to requalify annually in Lifeguard competencies (paid by us).

Responsibilities

• Supervise aquatic areas to ensure safety and a welcoming environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and staff.
• Respond to potential risks and emergencies in the aquatic facilities.
• Assist with water quality monitoring and plant room operations.

The Role

Are you passionate about the water and looking to start a career in aquatics? As a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard, you will help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our members by supervising aquatic areas, providing great customer service, responding to potential risks, and assisting with water quality and plant room operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the aquatics industry, with weeknight and weekend shifts available across our operating hours.

About You

You will be a team player, natural communicator and have a strong commitment to the safety and well‑being of our local community.

In addition, you will meet the following criteria:

• Pool Lifeguard licence, First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willing and able to obtain, paid for by us!)
• Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Current Pool Lifeguard licence
• Previous lifeguard / SLSC experience

Our successful candidate is also willing to requalify annually in all Lifeguard specific competencies and annually (paid for by us!)
