Job summary

Mingara Recreation Club is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard to help create a safe, fun and welcoming environment for members. You will supervise aquatic areas, assist with water quality and plant room operations, and deliver excellent customer service across weeknights and weekends.

We offer above award wages, rostered 4 weeks in advance, free gym/pool/membership with One by Mingara, and development opportunities including scholarships to support your growth in the aquatics

Qualifications

• Pool Lifeguard licence required or willing to obtain (paid by us).
• First Aid & CPR certificates required or obtainable through us.
• Working with Children Check required or obtainable through us.

Responsibilities

• Supervise aquatic areas and ensure member safety.
• Provide friendly customer service and information.
• Respond to potential risks and incidents promptly.
• Assist with water quality and plant room operations.
• Support across weeknight and weekend shifts as rostered.

The Role

Are you passionate about the water and looking to start a career in aquatics? As a Permanent Part-Time Junior Lifeguard, you will help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our members by supervising aquatic areas, providing great customer service, responding to potential risks, and assisting with water quality and plant room operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aquatics industry, with weeknight and weekend shifts available across our operating hours.

About You

You will be a team player, natural communicator and have a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of our local community.

In addition, you will meet the following criteria:

Pool Lifeguard licence, First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willing and able to obtain, paid for by us!)

Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

Strong communication and customer service skills

Current Pool Lifeguard licence

Previous lifeguard / SLSC experience

Our successful candidate is also willing to requalify annually in all Lifeguard specific competencies and annually (paid for by us!)
