James Hardie is seeking an On Site Shift Electrician for the Rosehill Manufacturing plant. You will join a team of tradesmen providing electrical maintenance support to ensure safe, reliable factory processing equipment.

The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts (4 on 4 off) with day/night coverage, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Applicants should have an Electrical Trade Certificate or higher and 5+ years in heavy process manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification with hands-on maintenance experience in heavy process manufacturing.
• Experience diagnosing and solving PLC-related issues in a production setting.
• Strong fault-finding skills with a proactive problem-solving approach.
• Hands-on work ethic with safety-first mindset and adherence to WHS policies.
• Capability to read and update electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsabilités

• Perform electrical maintenance and breakdown support to ensure reliable plant operation.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot machinery to minimize downtime.
• Replace sensors, switches and electrical components as required.
• Complete safety forms such as JSA or CTW and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with design changes to improve plant performance with engineer approval.
• Support various trades as needed to maintain continuous production.

Brilliant opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join our Rosehill plant, playing a key role in improving production efficiency.

The Opportunity

James Hardie is on the hunt for an On Site Shift Electrician for our Rosehill Manufacturing plant, you will be part of the team of tradesmen providing maintenance support to the Manufacturing plant.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for executing electrical maintenance and breakdown support to ensure that the electrical systems function at a level that supports the operational team’s requirements for safe, reliable factory processing equipment.

Shift: Rotating roster, 4 on 4 off (2 days/2 nights) 12 hour shifts

What you’ll do

• Completing maintenance jobs to the satisfaction of internal customers including but not limited to:
• Making or marking up drawings of electrical circuits
• Removing or installing pieces of equipment
• Performing online preventative maintenance inspections of machinery
• Fault finding and diagnosing break downs on machinery
• Replacing sensors, limit switches, checking/changing PLC code, checking drive parameters
• Changing out any electrical components including items such as motors, cables, plugs, switches, sensors, lights, etc
• Carrying out minor tasks outside of scope of role, such as assisting fitter or operators as required – this goes for any support person
• Resetting overloads on equipment and investigating the cause of repeat overloads
• Replacing electrical circuitry (e.g. wiring, contactors, fuses, relays, etc.) as required inside electrical panels
• Completing safety forms such as JSA or CTW
• Re-designing electrical circuits to make them more effective – must be approved by Engineer
• Assisting with identifying and implementing plant performance improvement opportunities
• Ensure that James Hardie’s operations are in line with Work Health and Safety Requirements
• Complying with any reasonable request related to health and safety including attending health and safety related training, participating in health and safety initiatives / activities and ensuring that either your acts or omissions do not place any person at risk

What you’ll bring

• Electrical Trade Certificate or higher qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a heavy process manufacturing environment
• Experience with industrial control systems such as PLC’s, specifically for diagnostic problem solving.
• Servo drive (SEW) and DC motor experience – trouble shooting and program changing.
• Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with fault-finding and strong problem solving skills
• Commitment to personal safety through following James Hardie’s safety vision

The following knowledge are highly desirable, but not essential:

• Forklift Licence
• EWP licence
• High Voltage training
• SAP Experience
