Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a motivated Machine Operator & Forklift Driver for our NSW manufacturing sites. You will operate concrete mixing, stacking, and forming equipment, set up moulds and fixtures, and ensure production meets quality and efficiency targets.

The role requires a valid forklift licence, experience in manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to health and safety. A rotating 4 on/4 off roster includes 2 x 12-hour day shifts and 2 x 12-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Forklift Licence and manufacturing background are essential.
• Experience with production, quality control or process data entry.
• Ability to read and follow procedures with safety as a priority.
• Comfort with computer-based machine operation and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machinery.
• Set up moulds, tooling and fixtures.
• Adjust grinding and cutting equipment as needed.
• Monitor production to meet efficiency targets and quality specs.
• Perform quality checks and follow schedules to meet targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with manual handling tasks when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow WHS policies.

We are looking for motivated and safety-focused Machine Operator & Forklift Driver to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality products to our customers.

What You'll Bring

• Valid Forklift Licence


• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality-focused environment


• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability


• Commitment to workplace health and safety


• Ability to use computer-based systems for machine operation and process data entry


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Flexibility to work a rotating 4 on 4 off rosters:


• 2 x 12-hour day shifts (6:00am - 6:00pm)


• 2 x 12-hour night shifts (6:00pm - 6:00am)

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machinery


• Setting up moulds, tooling and machine fixtures


• Adjusting grinding and cutting equipment


• Monitoring production processes to ensure efficiency and performance targets are achieved


• Conducting quality checks to ensure products meet specification requirements


• Following production schedules and meeting operational targets


• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives


• Performing manual handling tasks as required


• Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work environment


• Following all WHS policies, procedures and safety standards
