James Hardie seeks an On-Site Shift Electrician to join the Rosehill Manufacturing plant. You will support electrical maintenance and breakdown responses, ensure safe, reliable operations, and work on PLC-driven diagnostics during a rotating 12-hour shift.

Role requires substantial hands-on electrical experience in heavy manufacturing, SEW servo drives, and a strong safety mindset aligned with our WHS vision. Excellent team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate or higher qualification required.
• Minimum 5 years in a heavy process manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs for diagnostic problem solving.
• Servo drive (SEW) and DC motor troubleshooting and programming.
• Aptitude for hands-on work with fault-finding and problem solving.
• Commitment to safety per James Hardie safety vision.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical maintenance and breakdown support for plant equipment.
• Create or update electrical drawings for circuits.
• Perform online preventative maintenance inspections.
• Fault find and diagnose equipment breakdowns.
• Replace sensors, limit switches, PLC code checks, drive parameter reviews.
• Replace electrical components inside panels and wiring as needed.
• Assist other trades and operators as required.
• Investigate repeated overloads and identify root causes.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and training.

The Opportunity

James Hardie is on the hunt for an On Site Shift Electrician for our Rosehill Manufacturing plant, you will be part of the team of tradesmen providing maintenance support to the Manufacturing plant.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for executing electrical maintenance and breakdown support to ensure that the electrical systems function at a level that supports the operational team’s requirements for safe, reliable factory processing equipment.

Shift: Rotating roster, 4 on 4 off (2 days/2 nights) 12 hour shifts

What you’ll do

• Completing maintenance jobs to the satisfaction of internal customers including but not limited to:
• Making or marking up drawings of electrical circuits
• Removing or installing pieces of equipment
• Performing online preventative maintenance inspections of machinery
• Fault finding and diagnosing break downs on machinery
• Replacing sensors, limit switches, checking/changing PLC code, checking drive parameters
• Changing out any electrical components including items such as motors, cables, plugs, switches, sensors, lights, etc
• Carrying out minor tasks outside of scope of role, such as assisting fitter or operators as required – this goes for any support person
• Resetting overloads on equipment and investigating the cause of repeat overloads
• Replacing electrical circuitry (e.g. wiring, contactors, fuses, relays, etc.) as required inside electrical panels
• Completing safety forms such as JSA or CTW
• Re-designing electrical circuits to make them more effective – must be approved by Engineer
• Assisting with identifying and implementing plant performance improvement opportunities
• Ensure that James Hardie’s operations are in line with Work Health and Safety Requirements
• Complying with any reasonable request related to health and safety including attending health and safety related training, participating in health and safety initiatives / activities and ensuring that either your acts or omissions do not place any person at risk

What you’ll bring

• Electrical Trade Certificate or higher qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a heavy process manufacturing environment
• Experience with industrial control systems such as PLC’s, specifically for diagnostic problem solving.
• Servo drive (SEW) and DC motor experience – trouble shooting and program changing.
• Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with fault-finding and strong problem solving skills
• Commitment to personal safety through following James Hardie’s safety vision

The following knowledge are highly desirable, but not essential:

• Forklift Licence
• EWP licence
• High Voltage training
• SAP Experience
