Job summary

Metro Machining is seeking an Office & Financial Controller to own the books, payroll, invoicing, and customer onboarding. You’ll manage bank recs, month-end close by the 10th, BAS/IAS, and drive efficient processes across three workshops.

The role offers 7am–3pm hours, potential for partial work-from-home after the initial period, and growth with the team. Ideal candidates have full bookkeeping control, payroll expertise, and comfort with MYOB and AI tools to automate routine tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have owned full books (AP, AR, bank recs, month-end)
• Experience in payroll processing and BAS/IAS
• Strong written documentation and process discipline
• Discretion with payroll and financial data
• Comfort with AI tools for office tasks

Responsibilities

• Manage bank reconciliations and month-end close by the 10th
• Handle weekly payroll, super, payslips and BAS/IAS
• Invoicing within 2 business days after job finish and follow up on overdue payments
• Credit checks and onboarding for new customers
• Maintain office records, compliance register and starter paperwork
• Document clear processes that others can follow
