MBE Group is seeking an Office Administrator to join the expanding administration team in Broken Hill, NSW. The role involves handling calls, emails, scheduling staff and jobs, and providing accounts-related support within a busy office.
You'll work under the Accounts and Administration Supervisor, collaborating with two existing teams across MBElectrical and MBE Security & Fire Services to ensure smooth daily operations and timely information flow for clients and colleagues.

MBE Group comprises Mathew Barratt Electrical (MBElectrical) and MBE Security & Fire Services - well-established businesses based in Broken Hill, delivering electrical, security and fire contracting services across domestic, commercial and industrial projects, including major government, commercial and industrial contract work. We're proud to be contributing to the ongoing growth of Broken Hill, the Far West region and beyond.
With a strong pipeline of work ahead, our office administration team is growing, and we're looking for someone to join and complement our existing team, providing additional support across a broad range of duties.
Reporting to the Accounts and Administration Supervisor, you'll work alongside our existing administration team, sharing responsibility for:
Answering and directing phone calls across the business
Responding to enquiries in a timely manner, using sound judgment and a working knowledge of business operations to give accurate advice and information
Managing business email inboxes - prioritising what needs immediate attention versus what can wait
Scheduling and coordinating staff and jobs
Accounts-related tasks
General administrative support as required.
You’ll need to quickly get across how the business operates, so you can confidently direct enquiries and responses to the right business - MBElectrical or MBE Security & Fire Services - and prioritise a range of enquiries coming in via phone, email and in person.
To be considered, you'll need:
Previous administration or customer service experience
Quick to learn and pick up how a business operates
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing tasks across multiple channels (phone, email, in person)
Self-motivated and proactive
Friendly, professional manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
Experience scheduling using a scheduling software platform, and experience assisting with accounts or bookkeeping tasks, are highly favourable but not essential. If you don't currently hold this experience, we can assist the right candidate to develop these skills.
