Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist – Observability and NMS to define strategy, governance, deployment and evolution of Fault and Performance Monitoring across the network. You will ensure strong operational assurance, service quality and fault visibility for Optus’ 4G/5G transformation.

You will lead engineering, operations and vendor teams, shape roadmaps, manage budgets and drive cross-functional delivery while mentoring a high‑performing observability team.

Qualifications

• Senior technical authority with 8-12 years OSS or engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G, core, IMS, transport, and fixed networks.
• Experience defining enterprise-wide observability and KPI governance frameworks.
• Leadership of large-scale technology deployments, governance and vendor management.
• Relevant degree and industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define and own roadmaps for Fault and Performance Monitoring across Wireless, Access, Core and fixed networks.
• Provide strategic leadership for observability programs across Networks and Enterprise Managed Services.
• Lead senior vendor relationships, commercial governance, and partnerships to maximise value.
• Establish enterprise-wide observability, KPI frameworks to improve network performance visibility.
• Translate observability insights into strategic recommendations for engineering and executives.
• Build and lead a high-performing observability team.
